Cabinet Makers & Wood Turners
We made this website because people who visit us at Country Shows were interested to see more of our furniture and woodwork.
All our furniture is made using hand tools and traditional methods.
We do make use of some sturdy belt driven machines for some sawing and planing work. These are powered by our small Lister engine.
Harriet is a master cabinet maker and has been working with wood all her life.
I have been apprentice to Harriet for the last seven years and she has taught me the art of cabinet making. I also turn wood using a foot treadled pole lathe.
We hope you enjoy what you see.

We work on a number of commissions each year. Most are individual pieces of cabinet making, others are specific requests for one of our stock tables or stools made to required dimensions.
Because everything is hand made and depending on the scale of the work, timescale for each commission is variable.
We hold some of our stock items at all times. Call us for more information.

We make a number of stock stools and chairs for our show season. Although standard dimensions, each piece is unique because of the wood and turning.
Stools include small and tall versions. Chair designs range from the traditional Windsor, Smokers Bows and Rocking chairs.

We are fortunate enough to have a LOGOSOL bandsaw and a chainsaw mill. We use these to mill and prepare timber for our own furniture where possible.
Our bandsaw mills up to seventeen and half inch boards.
When we can't process our own timber we use reputable timber merchants.

Please contact us if you would like to order an item from our stock range of furniture or to discuss an individual commission.
We don't have access to a computer or the internet on a daily basis and prefer to communicate by telephone if possible!
If you prefer to email we'll get it as soon as we can.
Every year we attend several shows including Country Fairs and open days.
At these, Harriet demonstrates traditional wood working techniques whilst making wooden hand screws and hay rakes.
I demonstrate the pole lathe, turning chair legs and rounders bats for the kids!
This is a list of the shows we are hoping to attend over the course of 2018.
